Liturgical use
The twelve-star crown recalls the iconography of the Book of Revelation (ch. 12) and is the pre-eminent Marian attribute in statues of the Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. It is applied to the head of the statue in churches, chapels and Marian shrines to complete the traditional iconography. The perforated plate ensures stable fixing even on large-format statues.
