Liturgical use
The holy oils set accompanies the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Anointing of the Sick. The oil stocks contain the holy oils blessed by the bishop at the Chrism Mass, while the shell is the traditional instrument for pouring water over the head of the person being baptised. A complete set such as this ensures order and aesthetic coherence in the sacristy and during celebrations in parishes and baptismal chapels.
