Liturgical use
Our Lady of Sorrows is venerated on 15 September, her liturgical memorial, and throughout Holy Week. The 80 cm statue is suited to side niches in churches, chapels dedicated to the Mater Dolorosa and Confraternities of Suffrage. The lilac and black colours of Our Lady of Sorrows evoke grief and mourning, while the gold edges of the mantle express the royal dignity of the Mother of God even in the hour of spiritual martyrdom.
