Liquid wax lighter with gold-plated brass extinguisher cone: a liturgical implement for lighting and extinguishing altar candles with dignity and safety during celebrations.

Main features

  • Material: gold-plated brass
  • Function: liquid wax lighter and extinguisher cone
  • Mechanism: small liquid wax container with absorbent wick
  • Handle: light wood, approx. 50 cm in length

Liturgical use

The liquid wax lighter is the implement used by altar servers and torch-bearers to light and extinguish candles on the altar, processional candlesticks and nave candelabra. The light wood handle of approx. 50 cm provides the safe distance needed to reach elevated candles without risk of burns. The integrated extinguisher cone smothers the flame without blowing, respecting the traditional liturgical gesture. The gold-plated brass head coordinates with the gold metalwork typical of sacristy furnishings.
