Liturgical use

The charcoal tablet is the combustion base on which incense is placed in the thurible during liturgical celebrations. The rapid ignition time of 10 seconds and readiness in under a minute make these tablets practical for the priest or master of ceremonies preparing the thurible in the brief moments before the entrance procession. A burn time of approximately 70 minutes is sufficient to cover medium-length liturgical celebrations, including solemn Masses with multiple incensations.
