Liturgical use
The iconographic reference to the Apostles makes this ciborium particularly suited to churches dedicated to the Twelve or to communities that celebrate the link between the Eucharist and the apostolic mission of the Church. Distributing Communion during Holy Mass with this sacred vessel visually associates the Eucharistic bread with the apostolic tradition that hands on the Sacrament. The hand-chiselling enhances the object even outside the liturgical moment, when it is displayed in the sacristy.
