Baptismal ewer and plate in hand-chiselled brass, the ewer with an elegant neck decorated with engraved liturgical symbols (Chi-Rho, anchor, fish) and a wide matching plate: a set for administering the baptismal rite.

Main features

  • Material: hand-chiselled brass
  • Finish: silver-plated or gold-plated
  • Plate diameter: 23 cm
  • Ewer height: 19 cm
  • Decoration: liturgical symbols engraved on the ewer (Chi-Rho, fish, anchor)
  • Workmanship: hand-chiselled across the entire surface

Liturgical use

The ewer and plate are used for the Rite of Baptism by infusion: the minister pours blessed water over the head of the person being baptised three times while pronouncing the Trinitarian formula, with the plate beneath to collect the water. The Chi-Rho, fish and anchor symbols engraved on the ewer draw on early Christian iconography and give catechetical meaning to the sacramental gesture. Well suited to the baptismal font of parishes and the chapels of religious communities.
