Liturgical use
The thurible is the liturgical vessel for burning incense: it is used in the solemn celebrations of Holy Mass, in processions, during Eucharistic Benediction and at Funeral rites. The incensation of the altar, the celebrant, the assembly and the faithful expresses the prayer rising to God and reverence for the sacred. The removable inner cup makes it easy to clean charcoal residue, extending the life of the thurible. The incense boat holds the granular incense to be added during the celebration.
