Liturgical use
The ciborium is the pre-eminent sacred vessel in Eucharistic liturgy: it holds the consecrated hosts for the Communion of the faithful, for Viaticum and for the Eucharistic reserve. The acanthus motif, a symbol of immortality in the Christian tradition, gives this piece an added iconographic value. Suited to parish churches, sanctuaries and chapels that wish to combine liturgical functionality with notable artisan craftsmanship.
