Liturgical and devotional use
Saint Gerard Majella, an eighteenth-century Redemptorist lay brother from Campania proclaimed patron of expectant mothers, is venerated throughout southern Italy and in countries of Italian emigration worldwide. At 165 cm, this fibreglass statue is suited to Redemptorist churches, shrines dedicated to him — in particular the sanctuary of Materdomini in Avigliano — and the parish chapels of Campanian communities. The customisable colouring allows local iconographic traditions to be respected.
