Liturgical use

The iconography of the Good Shepherd is among the oldest in the Christian tradition, already present in the Roman catacombs of the second century. The monumental size of 160 cm makes this statue suited to large churches, seminary chapels, hospitals and Catholic educational institutions. The Good Shepherd bearing the lamb on his shoulders expresses the mercy of Christ who seeks out the lost sheep — a theme of great spiritual impact for the faithful in moments of fragility and seeking.
