Liturgical and devotional use
Saint Anthony of Padua is one of the most beloved and invoked saints of the Catholic tradition, patron of difficult causes and lost objects, celebrated on 13 June. His iconography with the Child Jesus is found in almost every Italian church. At 130 cm, this statue is suited to churches dedicated to him, the side altars of large parishes and Antonian shrines where popular devotion calls for an authoritative sculptural presence.
