Liturgical use
The 21 cm diameter format is recommended for parishes where Holy Communion is distributed to a large number of the faithful at Sunday Masses. Its greater capacity compared to the 17 cm version reduces the need to replenish the container between celebrations. The IHS monogram identifies the Eucharistic purpose of the pyx. The gold finish coordinates naturally with ciboria, monstrances and chalices of the same tone. Also suitable for storing altar bread in large tabernacles.
