Liturgical and devotional use
Our Lady of Mount Carmel — patroness of the Carmelite Order and venerated on 16 July — is among the most widespread Marian icons in southern Italy and Latin America. The 80 cm statue is suitable for Carmelite churches, parishes with a Confraternity of Mount Carmel, the 16 July processions, and devotional chapels where the faithful fulfil their vow of the white habit. The glass eyes and gold highlights lend the sculpture a solemnity befitting solemn expositions.
